-If you're working out of your home or shopping for a printer to use in a small office, this printer is worthy investment.
I'm Justin Yu for CNET, and this is your first look at The Brother MFC-J4510DW all-in-one printer.
Brother takes a big step forward with this printer.
It's a multifunction.
That means it can print, scan, fax, and copy all within the same device, but that's not really new.
What is new is a bunch web connected features underneath the hood
that let you install and print from the cloud using sites like Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, Evernote, Google Docs, and Dropbox.
Now, to access those features, you'll need to connect to your wireless network and access the media through this 3.7-inch touchscreen on the front.
If you don't have a wireless network set up in the office, you can connect it directly to your computer using a USB cord, but you'll need to buy one yourself because you don't one in the box.
The big difference between this printer and others is the paper tray that you'll use to load media into the printer.
It can take 150 sheets,
but you load it into the printer horizontally instead of straightforward, which does 2 things.
First, it lets Brother build a smaller chassis around it so it doesn't take up as much space on your desk as models in the past, but it also means you can print on longer sheets paper all the way up to tabloid size, which is 11 inches by 17 inches.
In addition to those features, you'll also get standard stuff.
Things like an auto document feeder on top that's for placing stacks of photos or documents to scan and fax as well as a duplexer around the back that automatically flips over your sheets for double-sided printing.
On that side here, you can flip down this window to check out the 4 ink cartridges, one for cyan, magenta, yellow, and of course black.
Unfortunately, brother provides starter pack cartridges in a box, which have less ink than the refills you'll soon have to buy when they run out, and this printer also pull down respectable results in our print speed test.
It didn't print the fastest or the slowest, but rest assured that you won't be tapping your feet waiting for the printout PowerPoint presentations and photo snapshots.
So, you can check out more details about output quality results and the setup procedure in my full review on CNET, but that's gonna do it for me.
I'm Justin Yu.
You just took a first look at The Brother MFC-J4510DW all-in-one printer.
Thanks for watching.
