Most popular for FebruaryThe gadgets CNET fans are most excited about. And they're all phones this month.
Welcome to CNET Top 5, where each time we meet, we count down another hot CNET list. I'm Tom Merritt. It's time again to check in on what product review you're looking at the most. These aren't the products we think are the best. These are the products that have the most pageviews at the CNET.com This is...a popularity contest. Let's count 'em down. At No. 5, the HTC Hero. That's right. Sprint customers are much more interested in the Hero than the Palm Pre. That's good news for Google who makes it's Android operating system. It's odd that it just came out in October and yet it feels old somehow. Coming in at No. 4, the iPhone 3GS. Talk about old. What's really interesting is that you CNET users are more interested in the iPhone now that it's been out for seven months, than they were before. It's late in the product cycle! You're just going to get heartbroken people! Up to No. 3, the Droid Eris the mini-me to Motorola's Droid. And at $80, it's a smoking bargain for all the features you get. I guess the aging Android 1.5 OS doesn't bother you much. Sliding in at No. 2, DROID. The darling of the smartphone world this holiday season and the ads for it have really captured the hearts of AT&T haters. Plus, even if you forget all the snotty back and forth of the smartphone wars, it's a pretty good phone. Before we get to No. 1, it's time for another lame prize. Oh, it seems so long ago. Another decade. President Obama had just been inaugurated, the Pittsburgh Steelers were Super Bowl champions, and Kelly Clarkson ruled the airwaves with "My Life Would Suck Without You." What was the most popular product of that heady time of February 2009. Be one of the first 10 people to answer correctly at blog.cnettv.com and you could be chosen to win this collection of three tech swag t- shirts! All right. Let's get to our No. 1. The product the largest number of CNET fans drooled over this month At No. 1, it's...the HTC Nexus One. OK, now this is getting ridiculous. Not only all phones, but three HTC phones. Break up HTC! Google went all Apple on us and announced the Nexus One in a big media event right before CES and y'all spent all month going gaga over it. No multitouch, no Outlook calendar sync, no hands-free Bluetooth, no problem! You love it anyway. Well That's it for this edition of CNET Top 5.
