>>Jeff Bakalar: Hey, what's up everyone, I'm Jeff Bakalar for CNET.com. Today we're checking out the LG LHB535.
Now the 535 is a 5.1 home theatre system in a box with a built-in Blu-ray player, it's got built in Wi-Fi and home network media sharing support. Now, we really like the system's onboard NetCast feature which allows you to stream Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, Pandora and CinemaNow with an internet connection. You can also stream media from a PC to the unit or you can also use a USB drive to play files locally. The LHB535 also allows for two HD my sources and two digital audio devices that also lets you hookup an iPod right upfront on this fold-down dock. We really like the onscreen interfaces as well, though you might find it does lag on occasion. We also wish there was a direct input access button available, but you're either going to have to hit the Remote button a few times or navigate to the Input menu using the onscreen display. In terms of sound, the LHB535 performed better with music rather than movies, which is kind of odd for the home theatre in a box. But overall, the sound does come up a little bit flat which is actually upsetting because feature wise, the system is pretty impressive. Video wise the 535 did great mostly because the Blue-ray player found in here is very similar to the LG BD570, which we happen to like a lot. Overall, the price and feature set for the LHB535 is great. It just comes up a little bit short on sound quality.
I'm Jeff Bakalar and this has been the LG LHB535.
