Lenovo's Yoga 720 is an above average 2-in-1 at a below average price
The 13 inch Lenovo Yoga 720 is sort of a bargain in the world of 2 in 1's.
It starts at around $800 so it's not exactly cheap, but Lenovo gave it some premium touches like a slim metal chassis that weighs 2.9 pounds Sturdy hinges that allow you to rotate the screen and hold it in multiple positions, and support for one of its active pens.
The full HD touchscreen might not win on color or brightness, but for mainstream use, it's just fine, and the skinny screen bezels.
And edge to edge glass keep with the high end feel, and Lenovo wisely leaves the webcam at the top of the screen.
The keyboard doesn't have any odd key sizes like earlier Yogas.
And they're clearly labelled and brightly backlit.
It has a Windows precision touchpad, that works really well, without any cursor jumpiness.
And you get a fingerprint reader, off to the side, for instant logins with Windows Hello.
Mainstream components inside give you enough performance for day-to-day tasks, with a battery life of a little under nine hours in our tests.
You can expect less than that though with demanding use as well as some fan noise.
Also, when it comes to connections you'll be relying on adaptors for things like an SD card reader, ethernet or video output but you do get two USB-C ports.
And one with Thunderbolt Three support that's used for charging.
Overall though, this is a pretty nice little two in one for students, or the home office.
Where some added flexibility comes in handy, and a nice design is appreciated.
