We're bringing the iPhone to the UK today, and I wanted to just tell you a little bit about the place we're at. This is our Regions Street store in the UK, this is our largest store in our whole chain of stores in terms of square footage, and it's the second largest in terms of revenues. So this is a great store for us. And we want to talk about of course, the iPhone. Now as you know, the iPhone is three awesome products in one. It's a breakthrough phone. If it was nothing but a phone, it would be a breakthrough. You can actually use it, and use all of its amazing features, cause it's really, really easy to use. So this is what really counts in the long run, even more than, than selling a million phones in seventy four days. And we can't wait to let people here get their hands on it and see if they love it as much as we do. So, we are coming to the UK, and we wanted to pick the best carrier for the iPhone. And we were very fortunate in that we were able to talk to all the carriers. You have some great carriers over here, but we were able to pick what we think is the best one, the most popular one, and the one that we felt great about working with, and that is Oh Two. And today we're announcing we're going with Oh Two, and we're really excited about it. ^M00:01:47 [ applause ] ^M00:01:55 The phone is gonna go on sale soon, and as you know, most of those million customers in the US paid four ninety nine or five ninety nine for their iPhone. We've since lowered the price a little bit and focused on the eight gigabyte model because that's overwhelmingly what people have wanted to buy, and that's what we're gonna be selling here in the UK. And we've brought the price down substantially. And so we want to be, we want to make it affordable for as many people as we can. And so in the UK the price for the iPhone is gonna be two hundred and sixty nine pounds, and that includes all VAT. So we've brought it down substantially from where it was, and I think where people expected. And we're gonna be with Oh Two bringing the iPhone to the UK on sale November ninth. So we're gonna be here in time for the holidays, and we're working real hard to make this. And I'm sure we are. [ applause ] Now as I said, we were very lucky, and we got to, we got to talk to all of the carriers in the UK, and you've got some great carriers here. But we were able to pick the one that not only is the biggest carrier in the UK, and not only the most popular, but for us really felt like home, and that was Oh Two. They think the same way we do, they, they work a lot the same way we do, and we're really excited to be working with them. And we've been working real hard with them the last few months. And it's my pleasure now to introduce the CEO of Oh Two in the UK, Matthew Key [assumed spelling]. ^M00:03:27 [ applause ] ^M00:03:38 >> Thanks, Steve. Listening to Steve, my mind actually goes back to the first time we met, and it was in California in Cupertino, early summer. And Steve gave me the device to play with. And I see hundreds devices every year. And within about two minutes of actually having the device and really starting to use it and play with it, I knew this was a breakthrough product. And actually, I knew it was something that I really wanted to bring to my customers in, in the UK. In fact, I'd have gone afar to say if I could have got it on Oh Two then, I would have got my credit card out, gone down to the Apple store and bought one that, there and then. Why - >> And, oh the other carriers. Well, we took the approach of wanting to get to know the different partners, the different possibilities, and, and to see where there was the best fit. And we think partnerships take a lot of work, and you want to work with people that you're kind of compatible with. It's kind of like you know, getting married if you will. You want to go out on a few dates before you get married. And so yes, we, we dated a few people that we didn't get married to. [ laughter ] And we, we found the one that we wanted to get married to, and we did. And, and so there's a few upset girlfriends out there, I guess. [ laughter ] So - >> I guess I was happy to say yes when the proposal came as well. [ laughter ] >> And, and you know, the choice was interesting. It, it wasn't an economic choice, it, it was a cultural choice. And we think Oh Two is, is, is doing the best job here for the types of customers that we think are gonna buy the iPhone, and, and we really like working with them. It's the future. Well thank you all for letting us have a chance to, to tell you about our partnership and about the iPhone, about the tariffs. And what we'd really like to do is, is have you all go downstairs and get your hands on one. If you've never, never seen one, never used one, just pick it up and, and let somebody give you a little guided tour if you like, or just fool around with it yourself if you'd rather be left alone. So go see what you think, get your own hands on it, and thank you very much. >> Thank you. ^M00:05:51 [ applause ]
