While it's a perfectly fine all-in-one, and it's certainly less expensive than many others.
I'm oddly underwhelmed by HPs really well designed, but otherwise just above average 2017 model of the Envy27.
It's certainly one of the classiest looking all in ones I've ever seen.
All the guts are in the base with an SD card slot, USBC charging port and headphone jack easily accessible on the side.
Plus four USB HDMI in and out and ethernet connections on the back.
One of the niftier design choices is the retractable web cam It not only preserves the [UNKNOWN] of the monitor, it guarantees no one's watching you.
The tradeoff for this slim of beauty, it's got a beast of a power brick.
There's also a cool touch volume dial on the base.
So I'm not sure how practical it is.
Hidden behind the front mesh are four Bang & Olufsen speakers They definitely sound better than your average built-in speaker system and they're certainly louder, but there's not a lot of bass.
Most people who want a better-than-average all-in-one for a decent price will be happy with the 27-inch touch display.
It covers the bases you need for streaming HD video and surfing the web.
If you aspire to 4K video, photo editing or other color-critical work doesn't really measure up though, despite the Technicolor certification.
And I'm not really a big fan of the bundled HP Envy wireless mouse and keyboard.
The mouse feels a bit awkwardly weighted and the buttons are too hard to press.
Plus, the keyboard keys have very little travel [SOUND]
