Hey, I'm Justin Yu, Associate Editor for CNET.com with a first look at the HP Photosmart eStation C510 Printer.
It's a multi-function so you do get the fax machine and copy machine with it.
But it also comes with this detachable 7-inch Android Powered Tablet that you can use to surf the web, browse Facebook and access the Barnes and Noble eStore from your couch and still be able to print wirelessly from anywhere in the house.
In terms of printing technology, you get a scanning bay of top, 5 separate ink
cartridges underneath and a dual paper tray down below, one for full sized sheets and another for smaller sized photo paper.
There's no auto document feature, however, but it does have an auto-duplex around the back for a double sided printing.
The Zeen Tablet is powered by Android 2.0 and it comes pre-loaded with a handful of apps.
But, you can't download more from the Android marketplace since it doesn't have the necessary hardware that some apps use, things like GPS or compass.
The user experience on the Zeen is optimized for printing, however.
So all the apps have a small print button at the bottom that way you push content wirelessly to the base.
The C510 is also one of the first HP printers to get ePrint that lets you send jobs to unique email address assigned to every C510 that ships from HP.
Just remember that you do need to have a wireless network at home to get the full functionality of the Zeen and ePrint.
The printer performed well in our Speed and Feeds Test and the USB connected e-station printed all 4 of our tests docs faster than the competitor's lineup.
And we were equally pleased with the output
quality as well.
And in all cases the printer lives up to HP standard for sharp, clear photos and text prints.
Overall we're definitely impressed with the C510's bundle of features and we enjoy the convenience of the Zeen but we're holding off on a recommendation until HP drops the price and fixes the network and hardware bugs that monitor testing.
You can read more in our full review on CNET.com but that's gonna do it for me for now.
