HP's new gameworthy Omen PCsA revamp of the entire line of gaming machines shows promise. And now you can buy that backpack VR PC!
[MUSIC] When we reviewed the 2016 model of HP's Omen gaming laptop, we called it high performance gaming minus the flashy design. The 2017, HP's dropping a re-thought out line of it's Omen gaming systems updated with the flashy design [MUSIC] It's Omen 1517 laptops with power upgrades, bringing the high end configuration to 15 inches to VR capable territory. The keyboards have been tuned for gaming in both the layout and the ability to better accept input from simultaneous unrelated key presses. And HP's upgraded their audio, cooling and display options as well On the 17 inch, the company brought back the optical drive option and added a 120 hertz display choice. But while they look a little flashier than before, you're still stuck with the red only backlighting. And if you've already got one of HP's compatible premium model laptops or all in ones. There's now a big docking station called the omen accelerator which accommodates graphics card and more storage app your game. And remember the VR backpack PC prototype from last year, now it's ready to be a real product but redefined as the omen compact gaming desktop. It is in a docking station for uses as PC but then you can pluck it out strap it with your back with the headset and your ready for VR. The more conventional Omen desktop has been completely overhauled, with blinged out gaming design, 203 expansion with a bay for easily swapping hard drives. And both PCs are optimized over clocking for both poor eye and rhizome processors. There's also a new pair of monitors to attach to your systems. One's a 25-inch, FreeSync compatible HD resolution monitor with 144 hertz refresh. And a 27-inch GSync compatible QuadHD, which goes up to 165 hertz. Finally, it's Omen accessories have been improved to match, with a new mechanical keyboard, mouse with removable weight stop To optimize the field and a headset redesigned for more comfort and better audio quality.
