I'm Andrew Hoyle for CNET and I'm here at the Samsung's stand in Mobile World Congress, taking a look of the Samsung Galaxy Grand.
The Galaxy Grand is basically a slightly bigger Galaxy S3.
It has a 5-inch screen as opposed to 4.8-inch screen and in looks-wise, it looks basically like the same phone.
We got the same white plastic design, the Chrome speaker and the home button.
And around the back, we've again got these large expands of white plastic and you will see an 8-megapixel camera with a flash which is probably safe to say that we expect similar results from that as you've got on the S3 already.
It strips the Galaxy S3 specs down 2. So, we've got 1.2 GHz processor inside with 1 gig of RAM.
So, it seems fine for swiping around but don't expect it to get the same performance for games and photo editing that you'll get on the S3 or phones like the Note 2.
It's running Android 4.1.2 Jellybean and Samsung has given it the dual app feature that you'll see on the Galaxy Note.
Now, this lets you put two apps side by side on screen at once, which is particularly handy.
Say, if you want to Google something once you're writing an e-mail.
An interesting feature as well is that it has a dual SIM.
So, it's particularly handy if you do a lot of traveling and want to keep a European or U.S. or UK SIM alongside your normal one.
Samsung hasn't said anything about pricing
as yet but as it has stripped back S3, we are hoping that it will be a little bit cheaper.
It's currently on sale in Asia but Samsung hasn't yet given any word if it's gonna be turning up in Europe or the U.S. So, we'll have to wait and see if it will either hit our shows.
