CNET First Look
Hands-on with Sony's powerful new lens cameraThe QX1 clips onto your phone, and works with Sony's E Mount lenses. Could this be the camera of the future?
[MUSIC] Sony has been busy building more sophisticated versions of it's lens camera that work with your smart phone. This is the QX1. Let's take a look. So the concept here for those unfamiliar is that you basically got a camera without the bulky control part. That's handled by your phone which this device speaks to wirelessly. This particular device, the QX1, is compatible with all of Sony's E-mount lenses, and it's got a 20.1 mega pixel center. It communicates with your phone using NFC and wi-fi direct, and I think what is particular cool is if you look on the back here you can actually attach this thing to your Smartphone. Sony tell me that it should attach to smartphones five inches in size, and it's compatible with Android, iOS, and Windows phone. It's gonna be on sale in the next few months. Let me know if you like the idea or if you'd rather have a good, old fashioned camera. And check out cnet.com/IFA for much, much more. [MUSIC]
