Hands-on Sony HDR PJ760, a camcorder with a projector
Hey guys, it's Sharon Vaknin for CNET.com.
I'm here at CES 2012, hanging out at the Sony booth with the HDR-PJ760 video camera.
Now this camcorder has a built in projector, like last year's model.
It projects your recorded video up to a 100 inches.
Non-HD but it does give you that 16 x 9 aspect ratio.
It also features a new technology called SteadyShot with Active Mode.
Now what that does is the entire lens unit in this device moves as you shake in order to compensate for any unsteady shots.
Sony says this improves the picture quality by up to 13 times over last year's model.
Also improved over last year's model is its 24.1 megapixel still image recording.
So if you're shooting a video, you can actually take a snapshot up to 24.1 megapixels.
It also has auto smile detection.
So if a camera detects any smiles, it will take a picture of that too.
The PJ760 has 5.1 audio, improved over last year's model but of course you can always attach a mic.
You can expect to see this camera on shelves in March for 1,600 bucks.
