This is CNet and here are the stories that matter this week.
At an event in New York Google made the worst kept secrets in tech official.
Headlining the keynote were the Pixel 3 and 3 XL, the company's flagship Android phones.
Starting at $799 and $899 respectively, available for pre-order right now.
The new phones boast bigger screens and a slew of machine learning features.
A lot of the upgrades for the devices are on the software side of things, so items like call screening, top shot, and super res zoom will all make their way to existing phones.
However the extra wide group selfie is exclusive to the Pixel 3.
Google is shutting Google+ after exposing private profile data About 2.5 million users.
The vulnerability in the social network affects users who have logged in between 2015 and March of this year.
But, Google did not disclose the hack because the company did not want to invite regulatory.
Scrutiny from lawmakers.
This, all according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
Google says it hasn't found any evidence though of data misuse.
And finally, Facebook has unveiled the Portal and Portal +, two video chat devices designed to make it feel like you're hanging out in the same room with family and friends who might be thousands of miles away.
The new item is to track human movement to keep people in frame and will start at 199.
