Google to debut Daydream VR headset, Facebook Marketplace coming to mobileToday's tech roundup includes Google's first ever VR headset, Facebook's Marketplace launching on its mobile app and a goodbye to the Microsoft Band.
This is c|net and here are the stories that matter right now. We already know a lot about Google's event on Tuesday and that will be the debut of two new Pixel branded phones, but Variety has learned that it will also mark the unveiling of the company's first ever VR headset for its Daydream platform. Variety reports it could also go for as low as $79 and come with a wireless controller that can track motion. The headset can be used with the forthcoming Pixel phones and other devices. [MUSIC] Facebook is entering the classifieds. A new mobile section of its app called Marketplace, will connect Facebook users that want to buy and sell items based on location. Facebook only wants to be the middle man though, they won't play a role in payment or shipping. [MUSIC] And finally, we have likely seen the last of the Microsoft Band fitness tracker. Band 2 inventory has been sold through and Microsoft says there are no plans to release a new device this year. The company has also eliminated it from its online store. Some major retailers have done the same. You can stay up-to-date with the latest by downloading the CNET Tech Today App in the Apple App Store.
