Glyph's Atom SSD and Atom RAID SSD portables drives are super fastCNET editor Dong Ngo explains the differences and similarities between Glyph's two new Atom SSD and Atom RAID SSD portable drives.
[MUSIC] Hi guys, I have a super [UNKNOWN] from GLYPH, new Atom ssd and Atom RAID ssd. Now both drive are very similar. And very different at the same time. Now, most of them come with very sturdy aluminum casing plus it's removable, rubber stickier case. And that means not only it can survive a drop from my height down, it can also survive if you happen to step on them no matter how heavy they are. They both support the latest USB 3.1 [INAUDIBLE] that has a cap speed of 10 gigabits per second and have This is PC port right here. And that means they can work right away with your 12 inch Micro on the new Micro port without the dangle. They also work with all existing computer. Thanks with this included compatible cable right here, ESPC to ESPX. Now the Atom SSD has just one solid-state drive inside. And in testing it has a top speed of some 430 megabyte per second, the fastest ever seen for a non-rate turbo drive. On the other hand the ATOM Red SSD here, has two solid state drives on the inside, combining one single red zero And that means it's extremely fast with a top speed of some 675 MB/s. The fastest ever seen for all external drives. Now, the [UNKNOWN] here is great as a general drive, you can use it to enlarge you computer storage space or as back up drive. The Atom Red SSD here is mostly for hard data, data that you are working on, like a movie that you are editing or a high def movie you are watching. Because Red Zero is optimized for street and not data protection, you don't want to use this one here to store important data or as a backup drive. That's because if one of the drives on the inside fail It will lose data on both of them. Now you can see the pricing and the capacity on the screen so basically the [UNKNOWN] it shows about $10 more expensive than the other one of the same capacity. Obviously, it never hurts to get them both which exactly why I do. Of top capacity. 1 terabyte and 2 terabyte. That's only because I'm [UNKNOWN] And these are the Atom SSD and Atom Raid SSD drives [UNKNOWN]. [MUSIC]
