CalDigit Tuff is a portable drive for the complete klutz
Hi guys, this is the Tuff Portable Drive from CalDigit, now, Tuff because, well, it's tough, for example, you can put it in three feet of water for some 30 minutes, and it will still work fine when you take it out.
But most importantly, it's really fast, in my testing, this one terrabyte SSD version here has a sustained real world copy speed of some 460 megabytes per second
The fastest ever seen for a single [UNKNOWN] portable drive.
In fact it's so fast that you might just want to toss it in the air out of excitement.
Oops, I did it.
And guess what, it survived.
As it turns out, this thing can withstand repeated drops from my height, and I'm quite tall even when sitting.
So that's impressive.
Now the drive has a USB-C port here, so it can work right away with computers that has a Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C port.
And by right away, I [INAUDIBLE] if you have a Mac because if you use a windows computer, you would have to first reformat it which takes a few seconds.
It also comes with a second USB cable here for it to work with all existing computers including those with USB 2.0.
And by the way, this outer casing here is removable, so if you want to change to a different one of different color to [INAUDIBLE] your taste.
You can do that too.
So basically this is a great football drive the question is how much does it cost?
Well is not cheap these SST version here cost $500 for one terabyte.
But you can leave with slower speed you can also offer this two terabyte hard drive.
That go for $180.
And don't get me wrong, this one is not super slow.
It has a sustained [UNKNOWN] of 140 megabyte per second, not too bad.
Both of them share the same toughness.
So here the deal, you should always handle your data with care, and if you do that the top drive is kind of overkill for you.
But if you can not do that, like if you work in a rough and dirty environment, Or you can afford anger management like my good friend behind the camera here.
This drive is great for you.
And I mean it.
Here Jim, take them both.
I don't want it.
And tell your wife she's welcome.
And for everybody else, and this is the Tuff purple drive What's wrong with you anyway?
I love you.
