[ Background music ] >> Justin Yu: Hey it's Justin Yu I'm an associate editor for CNET.com and this is the Brother MFC 990CW. Now this is what's called an all in one printer meaning you can literally do it all, print, fax, scan, copy and this one even has a built in answering machine and cordless handset. Now it's a little bit pricey at 230 bucks but you do get a lot of extra features that the competition just doesn't offer. So let's get right into it. A look at the control panel here it has this large 4.2 inch touch screen LCD display with a series of buttons around it to operate the various features. Now touch screens have been making the rounds in the printer industry for awhile now but a lot of them are just for the novelty of it but the 990CW screen is back-lit with an adjustable angle that saves plenty of time using these virtual short cut buttons. Now we did discover some mechanical issues with the printer however. Now this outgoing paper tray you see fits flush in the printer which makes it hard to dig out smaller 3x5 inch photos. Also check this out. The USB and Ethernet ports actually connect inside the machine. Luckily it does also come with Wi-Fi so you can bypass all those cords. So we also have 1 more complaint: The printer is so slow. It's by far one of the slowest printers we've tested. Now that being said that's really not a huge deal unless you're printing a large volume of photos. Now luckily it does produce excellent quality photos and graphics which sort of makes up for it. So if you can get over the mechanical issues and the super slow print speeds the MFC 990CW is actually a very capable printer with some added bonuses that you just won't find anywhere else. So check it all out in our detailed review but that's going to do it for me. I'm Justin Yu and you just took a quick look at the Brother MFC 990CW all in one printer. Thanks for watching.
