Bohemian Rhapsody will rock you, even if it's only half the story
How was that?
Can you go bit higher?
If I go any higher only dogs will hear me.
Is this the real life?
Is this This is just fantasy.
Bohemian Rhapsody is the story of rock legend's Queen and their outrageous frontman, Freddie Mercury.
Caught in a landslide with no scape from reality of sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
The film invites you to open your eyes, look up to the skies and see Freddie Mercury brought to life by Mr. robot style, Rami Malek.
It's a live scene US performance that personifies Mercury, the showman even if the script doesn't quite reveal Freddie, the man.
Film is produced by the surviving members of Queen and their team.
And while that means they've officially authorized loads of the band's glorious music, it also feels very much like their side of the story.
In this version of the Queen legend, the arguments are mostly Freddie's fault, or the fault of his solo career, his lifestyle, or the man he loved.
Bohemian Rhapsody gives us a little silhouetto of a man, glossing over the thunderbolts and lightning.
You may not know much about the inner workings of a bank but you'll surely enjoy the music, many musical player picks relegate the process of musical creation to a glimpse of their troubled subject, scribing down some lyrics in between getting wasted and yelling at their wives Well, Bohemian Rhapsody takes you into the studio for a fun look at how Queen conceived some of their famous hits, and what hits they were.
Do it again.
How many more Galileos do you want?
Roger, there's only room in this band for one hysterical queen.
The film makes deft use of the band's endless backcattle of classic cuts, drawing on just about every genre imaginable.
It culminates in their famous Live Aid performance which plays out like a mini movie, packing an extraordinary power to transport you onto the Wembley stage with mercury at his most magisterial.
He was just a poor boy, from a poor family but even in his final days he was in need of no sympathy.
Bohemian Rhapsody may not be the real life it may be mostly fantasy.
But, it's an entertaining showcase for Queen's greatest hits and the wonder of Freddie Mercury, and that's good enough for me.
