Asus ZenFone Selfie: 13-megapixels of front-facing glory
Well, Asus has stripped away any chance we have of pretending we're not closet narcissists by naming their next phone the ZenFone Selfie.
I'm Nic Healey and [UNKNOWN] reporting directly from the Asus press conference.
We've just seen the launch of the ZenFone Selfie.
A 13 megapixel front-facing camera phone.
Absolutely designed with you taking your own photo in mind.
That front camera comes with a software tweak called beautification, which allows you to change your skin tone, slim your cheeks down, generally make sure you're taking a selfie that's not entirely real, but does look as good as possible.
The back camera's no slouch.
It's 13 megapixels as well but that's not the point of the Zen phone Selfie, cause they've for an optional case with a built in stand that allows you to position the Selfie phone with the camera facing forward for the best photography.
Inside the Selfie you've got the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 optical processor and while it is running Android, you've got Zen [UNKNOWN] over the top of it for a different interface just like the Zen Phone 2 but a 5.5 inch IPS display with full resolution and a whopping 403 pixels per inch.
Very clear screen for such a small phone.
No information yet on pricing or availability.
Traditionally Asus has been very careful about the markets it brings its phones to but we'll be updating as soon as we get more information.
Copy that crowns all week and we'll be live on CNET.
