CNET First Look
Asus Zenbook UX305 is super-slim, aluminium (hands-on)Asus' new Windows 8 ultrabook, announced at IFA, is just 12.3mm thick and weighs 1.2kg. CNET's Andrew Hoyle goes hands-on.
[MUSIC] If you're in the market for a super skinny laptop to whisk away on holiday, then cast your eyes over the Asus Zenbook UX305. Now, only 12.3 mil thick, this laptop is extremely skinny. So it would be very easy to slide into a bag. Has an all metal design, as well, which makes it feel really, really nice. And, I think, looks pretty good as well. Now inside it's packing some of the best tech around. This display has a 3200 by 1800 pixel resolution which is extremely sharp. Now that will be available in a touch screen version, or a non-touch version as well. Inside it's packing the latest Intel Core M Series Processors, which will probably come in a variety of configurations, depending on how much power you need. It's also got 128 GB or 250 GB SSD drive. It is, of course, running the latest Windows 8.1 software, so you might want to opt for the touchscreen model to help swipe around those live tiles. There's no word on price yet but with all the best kits around packed inside, it's unlikely to come with a bargain basement price tag but we'll find out more when it goes on sale early next year. I'm Andrew Hoyle for CNET and this is the Asus ZenBook UX305. [MUSIC]
