Asus' VivoBook S15 is good-looking, cheap and light
The ASUS Vivobook S15 is a slim 15.6 inch laptop that only weighs about three and a half pounds.
While that's not quite as light as competing models from LG and Samsung, it's still remarkably light and it does beat out those other laptops in one area.
And that's price.
The base model, the S510UA starts at a reasonable $800.00, and gets you equally reasonable specs, including an uncommon dual storage drive setup, and for a bit more money, you can get discreet and NVIDIA.
The Windows precision textpad is decent and has built in fingerprint reader for quick log ins and the backlit keyboard is spacious but it also feels a bit light typing on a table and if flex bothers this won't make you happy.
More important is its battery life lasting about seven hours on or streaming video text which means you're getting even less with regular mixed use.
So while a lot of what you are getting here is fairly unremarkable, there's just enough to make things interesting, including the larger screen and an ultra portable body for less money and there's nothing wrong with that.
