Don't get caught in a storm again. After downloading a good weather warning app onto your smart phone. The Noah weather alerts app is a $4.99 download for iPhone users. MyWARN is a ten dollar app for IOS and android phones. Both work in a similar fashion and let you customize local weather alerts to the specific types of storms in your area. Whether that's tornadoes, rain storms, flash floods, or extreme snow. Weather Mob is a free iPhone app that let's you play meteorologist. Report your weather forecast for you specific location, and even submit photos, videos, or tips of how to enjoy it. Follow other users in your nearby area, and you've got your very own crowd sourced weather forecast. Finally, the free winter survival kit is a great app for those worst case scenario situations. If you find yourself stranded in bad weather, this app will help you pinpoint your location, alert emergency services, and give tips for how long you could run your car's engine before the battery dies.
