Apple iTV coming soon?Chatroulette may be getting a PG makeover, Goldeneye 007 for the Wii has a new trailer, and Apple iTV could be out next month.
It's Tuesday, August 24th. I'm Mark Licea and it's time to get loaded. Apple may release their iTV platform next month. Kevin Rose posted a blog saying that iTV will be a revamp of Apple TV and it will run on the Apple iOS. It may cost around $100. Rose says that we'll see an iPhone-iPad market placed for TV apps, sharing videos, and streaming. It's expected in September. Golden Eye 007 for the Wii has a trailer that came out over the weekend. The game will come with some special new modes like paintball and melee. The graphics do give the game a throwback look similar to the old title, but it's definitely an improvement. This is not a cutting edge first person shooter, but I think it's a good offering for the Wii. It comes out November 2nd. And we thought ChatRoulette was getting some kind of PG makeover yesterday, but, as Tech Crunch puts it, they couldn't get it up. The site is still down with the message saying that it will be back up shortly. And Google Earth may not be the most exciting app, but now Android users can go underwater. The new version of Google Earth 1.1 is available now and it lets you zoom in and dive below the surface. It also has Flash support so YouTube videos will play in the app if you have Froyo. It could be fun for about 5 minutes if you wanna check it out. And Verizon has a new desktop app for online gaming. $15 a month will give you access to 1500 games and the $5 a month plan gives you access to 450 games. Verizon partnered with digital media company Exent to bring casual games like Bejeweled 2, Cooking Dash, and Plants vs. Zombies. Both the $15 and $5 a month plans come with a free seven-day trial. Those are your headlines for today. I'm Mark Licea with CNET.com and you've just been loaded.
