Amazon and Microsoft align digital assistants, the fate of the iPhone 8's home button
This is CNET, and here are the stories that matter right now.
In a surprising move, Amazon and Microsoft are aligning their respective digital assistants, allowing users to utilize either of the two, regardless of the original platform.
Meaning Amazon smart speakers will have access to Microsoft's Cortana.
And presumably, Alexa could be channeled through a Windows 10 PC.
According to Bloomberg, the iPhone 8 might not only be ditching a physical home button, but even the possibility of a virtual one too.
Instead the home button's functionality might rely on touch gestures.
We 're still expecting that iPhone 8 to be announced on September 12th with a price that could reach as high as a $1000 in the US.
And finally the FDA has alerted the medical community that nearly a half million pace makers made by Abbot are vulnerable to being hacked unless they're updated.
Fortunately the update takes only around three minutes.
