As an SL printer, the printer uses a laser to create 3D objects. For this reason, the printer comes with a hood that can be removed easily. The hood needs to be on during a print job since it helps prevent  light from outside from interfering with its laser beam.

The printer uses liquid resin as the print material. The resin comes in a bottle as seen installed here.

During a print job, the printer will first pump the resin from the bottle into the clear build tank.

Under this tank is the ultraviolet laser light, which is reflected upward via an actuated mirror.

Clearly, the Nobel 1.0 can make higher-quality, more detailed objects than an FFF printer.
