Xiaomi's latest gadget isn't a smartphone but a personal transporter called the Ninebot Mini, which it will be selling for 1,999 yuan ($315, £205 and AU$440) on November 3. Ninebot is a Chinese company and earlier this year, bought over rival Segway in a deal backed by Xiaomi. The Mini handles like a Segway, but lacks the handles and big bulky wheels.
Unlike the Segway, there are no handles. Instead, there's a control rod that nestles between your knees, and all you need to do is tap it gently with your knee in the direction you want the Mini to swivel.
Since the Ninebot Mini looks very symmetrical, the rubber foot rests have arrows to let you know which direction you should be standing. You don't want to stand in the wrong direction, though, as you'll probably fall over.
