Samsung Galaxy Admire 2 riffs off the Galaxy S3

That's no typo: the Samsung Galaxy Admire 2 for Cricket Wireless looks like a thicker, more compact version of the Galaxy S3. Which is to say that it's an attractive, glossy smartphone with some reliable Android smarts.

Screen gleam

The 4-inch display isn't bright and populated by enough pixels to satisfy the eye. Android 4.1 isn't the most up-to-date, but brings with it Google Now, panorama photos, and other tricks.

Storage solutions

With 4GB of internal storage, the Admire 2 can hold more music, photos, and videos on a microSD card.

High gloss

With the same slippery, shiny finish, and brushed-metal aesthetic, the all-plastic Admire 2 is easy on the hand and the pocket. Its girth, however, might deter you if your pockets are snug.

Front-facing camera

There's a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera above the display, along with the usual proximity and ambient light sensors.

Side B

A very good 5-megapixel camera and LED flash grace the Admire 2's back, along with Cricket's LTE logo.

Navigate and charge

A physical home button controls functions like pulling up your list of recent apps and invoking Google Now. Below it, the charging port sits at the ready. Read full review
