Palm is hoping to attract a wider segment of the market with the Treo 680, touting ease of use and an affordable price point. Cingular, the official carrier of the 680, will sell the 680 for $199.99 with a two-year contract and an unlimited data plan.
The Treo 680 boasts a bright and sharp 320x320-pixel-resolution display. It's also a touch screen, which gives it an advantage over the BlackBerry Pearl, the Motorola Q, and the Samsung BlackJack by providing you with another method for navigating and entering data into the device.
Though Cingular will sell only the graphite version, you can purchase an unlocked model ($399) of the crimson, copper, or arctic Treo 680 directly from Palm. And we've seen them in person; they're not as blinding as we originally thought.
