The Nikon D4 will be available in the U.S. later this month, but Nikon's flagship professional SLR goes on sale Down Under tomorrow. CNET Australia does the honors in the first unboxing.
Upon first opening the box, you're greeted with instruction manuals and the Nikon strap.
After removing the upper trays, you finally get to see the beautiful Nikon D4.
There she is in all her glory.
Along with the D4, Nikon sent CNET Australia various lenses to test out, including this 14-24mm f/2.8G.
CNET Australia's Lexy Savvides notes that with the 14-24mm f/2.8G mounted, it's definitely lens heavy.
The shutter button now sits at a 35-degree angle, so it's easier to press.
There are numerous ports on the side of the D4, including the built-in Ethernet port and headphone jack.
The top panel features a 3.2-inch screen, an auto-dim sensor, and a thermal shield to protect the panel from getting hot when shooting outdoors.
The Nikon D4 is the first camera to incorporate a slot and XQD card. There's also a CompactFlash slot.
In case you forget, the strap is emblazoned with Nikon D4.
The D4 is compatible with the ME-1 external stereo microphone, which plugs into the 3.5mm jack.
Here is the Nikon D4 with the 24-70mm f/2.8G lens.
Attached here is Nikon's high-end speedlight, the SB-910.
