A new run

When starting a new run, you're offered three choices for structuring your workout.

History

The History tab at the bottom of the screen will take you to a complete list of your completed runs.

Summary

The summary tab shows time, distance completed, calories burned, and average pace. You're also presented with options for viewing the route, rating your run, calibrating the distance, or connecting to the Nikeplus.com Web portal.

First run distance

The maps use a standard Google Maps interface. Mileage is marked with flags.

First run pace

The pace view uses color shadings to show your pace changed throughout your run. Green denotes the fastest segments, whereas red shows where you ran slower. Yellow and orange are for in-between areas.

I wish the app showed elevation changes while you're running and factored them in when determining your pace. Corona Heights, which is the area in the bottom-left corner, was the hilliest part of this route.

Second run distance

As mentioned in the review, gaps appeared in the map the closer I zoomed in. I can't explain the reason for them.

Also, pace information wasn't always accurate. Note, the large red area in the upper-left corner, for example. Perhaps I lost the GPS signal, but I know that I wasn't walking there.

Happy or not?

You can rate each run according to your mood, the weather, and terrain. You also can add notes.

Calibration

If you find a discrepancy between the measured and actual distance traveled, the app offers a calibration option.

Go by time

You can choose to run for a set time. The app offers several options, though you can designate your own.

Go by distance

If running for distance, you can travel anywhere from one kilometer to a full marathon. Here again, you can set your own distance.
