The browser-based Chrome OS includes a launcher that can be used to start Web apps the user has installed via the Chrome Web Store. HP's Chromebook uses a 1.1GHz Intel Celeron processor and has a 16GB SSD. At the lower left, where a Windows key would be on a Windows laptop, the Pavilion 14 has the Chromebook search key denoted by a magnifying glass.

Windows laptops usually come with little stickers showing the operating system. Chromebooks have a Chrome logo built directly onto the case. This side of the Chromebook has most of the ports.

The Pavilion 14 Chromebook has a two-button trackpad, unlike Samsung Chromebooks that opt for the buttonless design Apple first popularized on its MacBook designs.
