Whether you miss the good old days, or just appreciate gaming masterpieces, you can get your fix at home, on the train or... anywhere. Many of the classics, or revamped versions of them, can be downloaded to your phone or tablet through Android's Play Store or Apple's App Store.

Here are some golden oldies guaranteed to give you some time-warp satisfaction.

While Super Mario Run isn't a console classic of yore, it does have your good buddy Mario and his friends bounding around 2D levels, dealing with the usual enemies and navigating familiar obstacles. The only difference is they run by themselves and you tap to jump.

There are different levels, a kingdom you can build and games you can play against others. You can download it on iOS or Android.

If you're itching to run from ghosts and eat vitamin pills, wait no longer. The original Pac-Man by Bandai Namco is available on Android and iOS

To add a little spice, the game also has missions you can complete -- like eating a certain amount of fruit or ghosts -- to win coins.

One download of Atari's Greatest Hits ReMaster gives you up to 100 old Atari games to choose from. The selection includes all the greats, like Centipede, Missile Command, Pong and Asteroids. Unfortunately, it's only available on Android.

Atari's Greatest Hits is even better than ReMaster, though, and it's available on iOS. Like ReMaster, this game also has 100 Atari games. The big difference is it can be played with the Atari Arcade Duo Powered joystick. Plus, the on-screen controls look just like the old arcade games. How rad is that?

I played Q*bert for hours and hours as a kid, but never could outsmart the snake. Thankfully, I have a second chance. Q*bert Rebooted is available on iOS and Android. This version is more 3D and offers new play styles in addition to the cube hopping that you love.

Coily the snake is back in this reboot, but Q*bert also has some new enemies. Uppercut, Homer and Treasure Chest look a lot like evil emojis hellbent on keeping our hero from the next level.

Gurk is one of those games with a cult following, and for good reason. This 8-bit RPG has all of the nostalgic goodness of NES games, even though it was intended for old Nokia phones. You can get the original on Android.

Don't stop there. You can continue the adventures with Gurk II on Android. The sequel gives you new quests and potions.

If you really need that Gurk fix, but only have an iPhone, Gurk III can be downloaded on iOS and Android

How many hours of your life have you wasted stacking colored bricks? It's so addictive, right? For those of you who have important stuff to do, I have bad news. Tetris is in your Android or iOS app store, and it's better than ever.

There are three different game modes to choose from, better graphics and rivals you can compete with. In Explorer's Mode you get to challenge other players. In Marathon Mode, you see just how long you can last, and in Galaxy Mode the goal is to complete missions and travel the Tetris galaxy.

That little guy from Pitfall swung over quicksand, jumped over holes and hopped on alligators, but he never seemed to go anywhere. In Activision's update of the game, Harry does a lot more. He's in 3D for a start.

You can also trade your loot for power ups, new clothes for Harry and other items you need. You can get it on Android and iOS.

If the updated Pitfall just isn't doing it for you, go old school. The Activision Anthology has 45 classic Activision and Imagic games just the way you remember them, including cute little 8-bit Harry.

Activision Anthology also includes some of my favorites, like Frogger, Steeple Chase and Pole Position. I love the home screen because it features old game cassettes, an Atari and an ancient TV set. You can get Activision Anthology on Android and iOS.

Sega has a plethora of Sonic mobile games to choose from. There's Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Racing Transformed, Sonic Jump Fever and Sonic Dash, just to name a few. The new Sega Forever initiative pledges new ports of classic games every two weeks, free and ad-supported. The original Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the first up, on both iOS and Android.

Sonic Dash on Android and iOS is good ol' fashioned hedgehog fun, as you bob and weave through obstacles and collect rings. There are also daily reward challenges. You can even play as Sonic's pals Tails, Shadow and Knuckles.
