The FirstMix DJ controller uses two spring-loaded jog wheels with a rubberized finish that emulates the look and feel of vinyl records.

Down the middle of the FirstMix DJ controller you'll find buttons and knobs for adjusting the crossfade, EQ, effects, tempo, track selection, and play/pause. These same controls (and others) are also available through the software.

The controls included on the FirstMix and the layout of the controller is simple enough or first-time users. Features such as reverse and scratch modes, and a handful of effects, give aspiring DJs some tools to grow into.

Overall, the FirstMix controller isn't the sleekest DJ controller we've seen and its small size and all-plastic construction feel a bit toy-like. Still, for $99, it's a fun DJ tool and the included software is surprisingly capable.

Here you can get a better sense of the texture of the Gemini FirstMix jog wheels. A small record label and spindle are built into the platter to complete the virtual vinyl look.
