Canon PowerShot SX280 HS

Thin and light

Shooting modes aplenty

GPS and Wi-Fi

Pricing and availability

The SX280 HS has the same lens and 12-megapixel BSI sensor as its predecessor, the SX260 HS, but gets an all-new Digic 6 processor. The new chip improves shooting speeds, allows for 1080/60p movie capture, and, perhaps most importantly, reduces the amount of noise in high-ISO, low-light pictures.

The SX280 has full manual and semimanual modes as well as a whole lot of automatic options, including its Hybrid Auto that combines Canon's scene-recognition auto mode with Movie Digest, which captures a few seconds of video before each shot and then combines them into one clip at the end of a day of shooting.

The camera has GPS for geotagging photos and Wi-Fi for connecting wirelessly to Android and iOS devices for transfers and on-the-go sharing.
