Good news, fans of expensive cameras who can't afford expensive cameras and would like a slightly cheaper version of those expensive cameras! The Canon EOS 600D and the EOS 1100D are a new pair of entry-level digital SLR snappers.

The 600D is a more accessible version of the Canon EOS 60D. It boasts a large 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and offers 14-bit colour processing. ISO sensitivity tops out at ISO 6,400, expandable to 12,800. It fires a burst of up to 3.7 frames per second.

When you're shooting in situations that need a little more flexibility than your creaking bones can handle, the 3-inch, 1 million dot screen flips out and twists around so you can hold it up high, down low or even shoot round corners.

That includes shooting 1080p high-definition video. As well as normal video shooting, a clips feature lets you capture mini-movies in 2, 4, or 8-second segments, for some reason. That sounds perfect for the Crave team -- because we just don't know when to stop.

The cameras adds new scene modes, including a Basic+ function that creates moods such as 'warm', 'cool' and 'intense'. It also includes creative filters, effects like miniaturised tilt-shift or soft focus.

The 1100D packs a 12.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and shoots 720p video. It comes with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens, with image stabilisation for £500 or without for £460. Without a lens, the 1100D will cost £420.

Body only, the EOS 600D will cost £680. With an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens it will cost £770. An EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens kit costs £950. So still fairly expensive then.

Both snappers will be available in early April. Click through our gallery to see more of the new models.
