Dudley, who was also named a vice president, will be charged with building an "Innovation Center" that will be used to test the Boston-based company's business practices. Dudley will also form an executive advisory board.
Both Zefer and Viant compete against such players as Scient and a host of others in the market for building e-businesses. These companies craft online marketing strategies for start-ups and Fortune 500 firms as well.
Dudley, who most recently served as vice president and chief creative officer at Viant, also worked as an executive director at MTI/The Image Group, a New York-based television production house.
In recent months, Zefer has acquired several companies to help boost its business strategy and consulting services. Last week, the company bought strategy consulting firm Waite & Company, the firm's third acquisition in four months. Previously, Zefer acquired Spyplane, a digital branding firm based in San Francisco. In June, Zefer bought Neoglyphics Media and Customer Management Solutions (CMS) practice, two business divisions from computer management and consulting firm Renaissance Worldwide.
