WSJ, CNBC honor Apple's Jobs

Business-focused publication, TV network, name Mac Maker's CEO the "Leader in Innovation." eBay's Whitman another honoree.

Fresh from rocking out with U2's Bono and The Edge, Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs received an award Thursday from The Wall Street Journal and CNBC. Jobs was honored as the top "Leader in Innovation." In addition to Jobs, three other executives were honored, including eBay CEO Meg Whitman, who was named "Business Leader of the Future."

"In today's complex business and regulatory environments, the responsibilities and duties of business executives have become enormously challenging," WSJ Managing Editor Paul Steiger said in a statement. "Our goal with these new awards was to identify those who are extraordinarily successful at meeting this challenge and to explore the reasons for their success."
