GoPro strapped to Hot Wheels car captures rocketing road trip

This is the four-wheeled toy adventure you dreamed of as a kid, complete with a detour into the swimming pool.

GoPros aren't just for extreme athletes anymore.

In a video posted Monday to the 5MadMovieMakers YouTube channel, a tiny Hot Wheels car with a camera strapped on heads out for an epic road trip. This is the kind of ride you imagined your toys were having when you weren't around, the sort of fun they promised in the toy commercials.

Marvel as the dogged little car zooms under the fence into the neighbor's yard! Worry as it slows down on the playground, but keeps on chugging! Cheer as it picks up speed again, and dives straight into the swimming pool! Gurgle as it plows on through the water like a four-wheeled Michael Phelps!

"The cart worked reasonably well underwater and only fell off the pool track a few times," the filmmakers note in the video description. "The main problem with the pool track was keeping the track connected and in place. A rock was attached to the end of the track in order to weigh it down."

The video makers note there are 11 cuts in the video, but you'll be hard-pressed to notice more than one, so smoothly is it edited together.

The car zooms through tunnels, around patio furniture, does a classic loop-de-loop, and finally coasts into Pit Row -- er, some kid's sandbox decked out with birthday candles.
