Want a free laptop? Microsoft's paying

As part of its campaign in which it's trying to prove that Windows PCs are cheaper than Macintoshes, Microsoft is teaming up with Nova FM to giveaway AU$1300 a day for people to buy a Windows laptop.

As part of its campaign in which it's trying to prove that Windows PCs are cheaper than Macintoshes, Microsoft is teaming up with Nova FM to giveaway AU$1300 a day for people to buy a Windows laptop.

Quite savvy, really, when the cheapest MacBook comes in at AU$1599. Arguments aside on included value of software and OS religious wars, your chance to win the cash is there — in typical radio competition style.

You'll need to find the "Laptop Hunter" (or "Fugitive", or "Deep Throat", or "Suspect" or whatever else the horribly unimaginative re-branded radio competition is this month) in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney CBDs in order to claim your cash, and then be taken on a PC buying frenzy.

The competition starts today in Melbourne and Sydney and runs until Friday 12 June, whereas Brisbanites will need to wait until 16-20 June for their go. Listen in to Nova breakfast at around 8.30am for clues on how to find the perp who could be holding your cash.
