Verizon teams with uReach

Local phone giant Verizon Communications has signed a deal with uReach Technologies, a company based in New Jersey, to let subscribers get their e-mail, voice mail and other messages through different types of devices. Many of the big telephone companies have tapped start-ups that offer this type of "unified communications" services over the past year. Many of these smaller companies offered their services independently initially but have switched to focusing on selling their wares to giants such as Verizon. The companies said the service would be turned on for Verizon customers "later this year."
