Universal Music Group and interactive audio company RadioWave have inked a radio programming and distribution deal for several of Universal's record labels and artists, according to the companies. Under the deal, RadioWave said it will produce, host and distribute online radio programs that feature music from the Motown, Verve, Cash Money, Universal Classics, Universal Records and MCA labels. Music fans can access the programs through Universal-affiliated Web sites or through Web-based, label-branded players produced by RadioWave.
The companies added that Motown Radio and Verve Radio will be syndicated throughout the RadioWave Network, which includes Rolling Stone Radio, MSN Chat Radio, Artistdirect Radio, RadioFreeCash and the Susquehanna Radio's broadcast station group. Last year, Britain's EMI Recorded Music teamed with RadioWave to produce Internet radio channels.
