The much-lauded integration of the Twitch gameplay streaming service, allowing users to live stream game footage, will not be available on the Xbox One until 2014.
The news was broken in an Xbox blog post, which noted that the Xbox team was "working to ensure the initial Twitch on Xbox One broadcasting experience meets the expectations of the Twitch community".
"While this feature won't be available right away, we'll let you know as soon as it is ready. Our goal is to deliver it during the first part of 2014," the post continued.
Streaming of gameplay footage has become a popular activity, and both next-generation consoles were very vocal about having streaming features built in. Sony also has Twitch capabilities, along with Ustream, both of which were active for its US launch last week.
The Twitch.tv app on Xbox One does allow people to watch gameplay footage, however, andwill still let users record five minutes of gameplay and share it via Xbox Live or upload to a SkyDrive account.
