    In response to the May 1 Soapbox column by Dennis Parker, "How age discrimination is killing high tech":

    I guess we should throw out Euclidian geometry and Aristotle and...well, you get it. These guys wouldn't be able to function in our world today either.

    It's amazing how easy it is to ignore how we are the heirs of all that has gone before us. I guess every generation has to believe that all that is true springs full-grown from their heads alone.

    I turned 46 in January, so that means I've only got a little over three years left before I go to pasture.

    Isn't it funny how all the ancient COBOL programmers kept Y2K from becoming the disaster everyone predicted? Go figure.
