Remember those folks waiting in line at an Apple store in New York? Well, it's been pouring rain and that surely has put a damper on the fun of the wait. Some have been trying to keep dry by renting a car and taking turns sitting inside of it. The first guy in line says he now has a cold.
Of course there's much more news besides the iPhone. LG introduced a "phablet" smartphone, the Optimus Gwith a 4.7-inch screen and a 13-megapixel camera.
Sony just announced a remodeled PlayStation 3 Slim. It's 20 percent smaller and 25 percent lighter than the current Slim edition. It has a slightly different look with a sliding door panel to top-load discs. The 250 GB version arrives Sept. 25 for $270 bucks and comes bundled with Uncharted 3. But you can get one with double the memory for $300 on Oct. 30, bundled with Assassin's Creed III.
And we also got our eye on the Jorno folding Bluetooth keyboard. What makes it unique is the way it folds into itself Transformer-style to fit in the palm of your hand. It was first introduced in 2010, but couldn't get the funding needed to become a reality. The creators have put it on Kickstarter, hoping to raise money through crowd funding. If they can reach the $100,000 goal by Oct. 17, the Jorno can go into production to be shipped in early spring of 2013.
