Behind closed doors, Sega showed off an early version of The Club. This third-person shooter for the Xbox 360 and PS3 wears its cinematic influences on its sleeve, mixing Fight Club and The Running Man with the over-the-shoulder POV made popular in games such as Resident Evil 4 and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter.
In The Club, gamers join a secret society where they are paid to battle each other in various urban arenas. The action is fast-paced and according to the developers, levels should take only five minutes or so to blast through, making for a game that's easy to pick up and play in short spurts. Online multiplayer mode will play an important part, with gamers building up an online reputation by scoring the most points in bloody death matches. Though it already looks very slick, The Club won't be available until sometime next year.
