'The Fate of the Furious' trailer is delightfully insane

Betrayal. Showdowns. Charlize Theron. The newest Fast and the Furious flick has 'em all.

The trailer for "The Fate of the Furious," the latest in the absurd-but-amazing Fast and the Furious franchise, has landed. And people are pretty excited.

In it, series protagonist Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) has apparently gone rogue. We see him turn on his revhead family. He betrays his wife and, even worse, The Rock, by shacking up with a "high tech" terrorist played by Charlize Theron.

We'll have to wait until April 14 next year to see what this alliance is all about. But keep in mind that the importance of family has been a theme in recent flicks, or at least something the characters harp on about in between increasingly preposterous action scenes.

In any case, the trailer worked its magic on many tweeters.

"The Fate of the Furious" has a big act to follow, with 2015's "Furious 7" raking in over $1.5 billion at the global box office.
