The chemistry is out there: 'X-Files' stars share a moment onstage

Watch as David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, aka FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully on "The X-Files," sing together to promote Duchovny's upcoming album.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson were at the Cutting Room in New York City on Tuesday to promote Duchovny's upcoming musical album "Hell or Highwater," and things got a little hot and heavy between the "X-Files" stars.

Anderson took to the microphone to provide backup vocals for one of Duchovny's songs, and you could almost instantly see the chemistry between them. At various points throughout the performance, he whispered what we can only imagine were sweet nothings into Anderson's ear, and they even fist-pumped at one point.

But it was after the song was over that things got a little heated. Duchovny and Anderson shared a not overly intimate but still pretty steamy kiss on stage, serving as an instant reminder of the incredible chemistry the "X-Files" stars shared back in the 90s.

After watching this clip, I personally can't wait to see their chemistry in action in the six-episode "The X-Files" reboot, which airs on Fox beginning January 24, 2016.
