Tech Time Machine: 13 March

From the time that mankind trained its eyes skyward we knew of six heavenly bodies in our solar system: the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. In 1781 that all changed.

From the time that mankind trained its eyes skyward we knew of six heavenly bodies in our solar system: the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. In 1781 that all changed.

In this Tech Time Machine we look into the first planet discovered since the time of antiquity and how it was discovered.

Other notable historical events that took place today include the annexation, in 1938, of the virtually whole of modern Austria into Nazi Germany in the Anschluss and, in 1979, a successful coup d'état is led by Maurice Bishop in the otherwise sleepy Caribbean island of Grenada.
