Avaki announced on Monday that Sun Microsystems will resell its grid software. The deal with Sun follows similar reseller arrangements that Avaki has signed with Hewlett-Packard and IBM. Under the new agreement, Sun's professional services arm will resell Avaki Data Grid for tasks that involve the provisioning and accessing of distributed data.
An early entrant into grid software, Avaki this year began to specialize around data integration, or tying together information from disparate sources. A company can use Data Grid, which shares computing jobs across several computers, to create a single view of data resources on a corporate network.
