Sony cuts price of color handheld

Sony Electronics has trimmed the price of one of its color handhelds, the Clie PEG-SJ30, from $250 to $220, according to information on its Web site. The consumer-electronics giant introduced the device in September 2002 for $300. Sony then lowered the Clie PEG-SJ30's price toward the end of last year to $250. The device, which includes a color screen with a resolution of 320 by 320 pixels, supports over 65,000 colors and comes with 16MB of memory.

The move follows Palm's announcement on Tuesday that it would be cutting prices on three of its handhelds--the m130, m515 and the Tungsten T.
