However, one thing is for certain: the new theme song by Fallout Boy and Missy Elliot is making many long for the original "Ghostbusters" theme song from Ray Parker Jr.
Luckily for hard-to-please fans, Sony Pictures Japan released a Japanese version of the original "Ghostbusters" tune but as a music video with female Japanese comedians Tomochika, Oniyakko Tsubaki, Naomi Watanabe and Shizuyo Yamasaki.
The music video, which posted on YouTube this week, features the comedians dressed in Ghostbusters uniforms and proton packs. The neon lighting gives the music video that classic '80s feel even though footage from the new movie is shown throughout the video.
Here's hoping this international-friendly theme song makes its way into the movie and isn't only released in Japan. After all, watching Slimer groove to J-Pop music is pretty awesome all by itself.
"Ghostbusters" comes to theaters July 11 in the UK, July 14 in Australia, July 15 in the US and August 11 in Japan.
